Re: News Article: A new place to store toxic waste?
Jerry,
Those of who are in the business of radiation safety,
without the quotation marks, know that the problem is
not research. It is regulation. If you review many
of the comments in this list, it is apparent that
politics, and not science, is the problem with waste
disposal, exposure limits, transportation, etc.
Again, write to your legislators. I am sure they will
value your knowledge and experience "in the business."
As for research funding, I have always felt that
research needs to be continued. I am surprised that
you think all of the answers are already known. But,
I guess "in the business" you are in, there is no
further need to solve emergent problems, or do things
better. Who knows? Research efforts may help the
public, who you equate with all the anti-nuclear
people and not those "in the business," might better
understand this "business."
