RE: Disposal of empty Kr-85 gas cylinders

At one time DOE took it back (10-15 years). Let me know who handles it

now.?

Thanks,

Subject: Disposal of empty Kr-85 gas cylinders

Has anyone out there in Radsafe land had experience with disposal of gas

cylinders previously used for Kr-85 storage? Is it sufficient to vent the

gas or it is necessary to purge the cylinders with nitrogen or some other

non-radioactive gas? What level of residual gas might be expected?

Thanks for your help.
