Re: Landauer's Luxel Dosimetry badge
Kevin-
I've been using the Luxel badges ( about 45 employees) for a
couple years, previously used basic Landauer Film badges. The Luxels seem
to show less susceptibility to heat damage ( eg. badge accidentally left
on dashboard in the summer...) The badge holder clips that hold the
dosimeter are a bit of a PITA, while they do seem to hold onto the badge
fairly well, they do not release easily for exchange. I've had no
mechanical failures of the dosimeter packaging, I'd generally give them a
thumbs-up. We build Analytical X-ray systems and use Co-57 and Fe-55
sealed sources.
From a customer service standpoint, though, Landauer can be a bit
frustrating.... You can always get a live operator to talk to on the
phone, but service change orders seem to take forever to execute. They're
quick to get someone added to the program but it can take months to get
someone cancelled. Not a major concern, but it could be done better.
Good Luck,

Subject: Landauer's Luxel Dosimetry badge
Hello,
I am curious if anyone involved in the group is using the Luxel Dosimetry
badges from Landauer Inc.?
I work at a Uranium mine in Canada, and while these particular badges have
not been approved for use in Canada (yet), I assume that they will
eventaully be and would like feedback of others who are currently using
these badges as part of their personal dosimetry program.
Thanks for your response!!!
