RE: We love wind -- or do we?

Dear all,

I agree with Ruth that RADSAFE should require the identification of all participants in order to preserve the professional integrity of the forum and of the subject matter. The anonymous are free to inflame any discussion and make certain kinds of false claims that can be very difficult to dismiss due to the anonymous "veneer". I also agree with David Neil that anyone with any concerns should avoid being engaged in any sort of discussion with an "anonymous" individual or anyone who's identity or reputation may be questionable.

While I have no objections to most individuals (including non-professionals) voicing opinions, they must, at the very least, be willing to subject their name and reputation to the same scrutiny and criticism as the rest of us. Should such an individual ruin their reputation, then they are free to seek anonymity elsewhere but RADSAFE may wish to better protect itself.

I have no quarrel with any particular anonymous person on this list. However, there are some legitimate concerns that must be addressed. As such, I submit these for the consideration of all and, in particular, to Mountain Himalaya and Michael Stabin.

Best regards,

Grant

1. RADSAFERs have many different political outlooks and points of view.

2. I thought that identifying oneself on RADSAFE was required, or at least de rigeur. Am I wrong? In my humble opinion, the presence of one or more anonymous participants inhibits free discussion somewhat.
