University of Utah Health Physicist Position
The University of Utah is currently accepting resumes for a full time Health Physicist position in the Radiological Health Department.
The University of Utah is a major university which includes a school of medicine with a 400 bed hospital, a radiopharmacy serving regional clients, soon to open 50 bed cancer research hospital and orthopedic hospital, a PET Cyclotron, mobile PET scanner, a 100kW TRIGA research reactor and numerous research laboratories. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently, is accountable and possesses self motivation. Specific responsibilities will include administrative oversight of individual programs as delegated by the Radiation Safety Officer and development and implementation of radiation safety programs as needed or required by institutional committees or regulatory agencies.
Minimum qualifications are:
A Bachelor's degree in Health Physics and two years related experience or equivalency required. A commitment to provide excellent customer service required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with mainstream computer applications, are essential.
Preferred qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who have ABHP certification or an advanced degree in health physics, or a related field; experience in an institutional radiation safety program; one year experience at a medical institution; one year experience with radioactive waste processing; experience with radiation safety computer databases; and project management experience.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8-5
Salary Range: $49,955.00 - $79,927.00
