Remarks on Tooth Fairy Project
Norm Cohen commented as follows:
>>>>>>Douglas,
The theory is that if a fetus has higher levels of sr90,
which is a marker, then the fetus has also absorbed many
of the other radionuclides emitted by nukes. These
chemicals settle in different places in the body, where
they emit radiation which harms the immune
system, especially in fetus and infants.<<<<<
There is a long list of negative things that can
be said about the logic behind the Tooth Fairy
Project and it is amazing that people with at least
nominal education in nuclear science can promote
such nonsense. Let me suggest a few problems with
their thinking:
1. They first need to show, which they have not,
that Sr-90 from power plants is an environmental
pollutant of any signicance. Remember that the poison
is in the dose.
2. They need to show that the Sr-90 they are finding
in baby teeth is from power plants, rather than from
the most likely source, worldwide fallout from the
nuclear testing era.
3. They need to show that their is a credible pathway
from nuclear power plants to baby teeth. They have
not done this and are making no attempt to show this.
It is understandable that they have not yet
shown any of the above. It is not understandable that
these goals are not even in their plans. Like Don Quixote,
they are tilting at windmills and thinking that they are
doing something worthwhile.
