Symposium on CT PET and Fusion Imaging

The Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) is sponsoring a National Symposium on Fusion Imaging and Multimodalities: Technical and Regulatory Considerations. The symposium is being held at the Marriott Kansas City Downtown, Kansas City, Missouri on February 18-20, 2004. It is made possible through the financial assistance provided by the American College of Radiology (ACR), the Food and Drug Administration (Center for Devices and Radiological Health) (FDA/CDRH), the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), the American Society of Radiological Technologists (ASRT), and the Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologists Section (SNMTS).

The organizations that were provided options for members to attend have released a few spaces at the symposium for other interested attendees from industry, medicine, and regulatory agencies. If you are interested in attending, please contact Ron Fraass, CRCPD Executive Director at rfraass@crcpd.org <mailto:rfraass@crcpd.org> or 502 227-4543 ext 2222. There is no registration fee for this symposium, but attendees must register prior to the symposium. Registrations will be accepted until remaining available spaces are filled.

The symposium will address technical and regulatory issues surrounding CT, PET, the fusion of PET and CT, and new radiopharmaceutical and brachytherapy procedures. Attendees at this symposium will include representatives from State Radiation Control Programs, AAPM, ACR, ASRT, FDA, SNMTS, and industry. The symposium will offer a forum for discussion of both current and future activities addressing fusion imaging and multimodal emerging technologies. It also offers an opportunity to acquire the latest information as well as training in these areas. A tentative agenda for the symposium is posted on the CRCPD web page <www.crcpd.org> under the 'Meetings' menu.
