Technically, I think I focused on the "Love Canal" reference in Louis' post, 

because Love Canal is widely seen as the "granddaddy" site of the Superfund, 

and I think it was actually a gross over-reaction, based on door-to-door 

epidemiology, and resulting in billions of wasted dollars, and some frankly idiotic 

environmental law and regulation that is not supported by science.
