RE: A Question for Power Reactor Types and others with portal monitors.

We use Eberline PM-7's which are calibrated to Cs-137. They do not have

the capability to be set to a particular gamma energy (like an MCA that can

set to discriminate out specific gamma energies).

What is the gamma energy that your portal monitors are set for?

Here at the power plant, workers with medical nuclides will generally alarm

portal monitors at greater than 0.2 uCi. Portal Monitors at the plant are

set to alarm at 75 nCi for distributed external contamination.
