RE: Strontium-90 on Tennessee Highway 95

>If, as suggested, an understanding of peoples "feelings" is important

for decisions on cleanup of radioactivity, shouldn't training in

psychology be a part of Health Physics training?

Absolutely. Of course, engineers and physicists in general tend to lack

in training in the arts, literature, psychology and other areas which

could help them be better rounded leaders, so this should be encouraged

in general. Most environmental science programs now have either

specifically designed courses in the area you mention, or incorporate

such ideas in electives, seminar series, and so on. It really should be

mandatory in any health physics training program, in my opinion.
