  Louis,

This seems to be your next attempt to fool us at RADSAFE.

Neither lanthanum, strontium, actinium nor cesium are transuranic elements. You do not mention any isotopes nor quantities. If you claim that these e l e m e n t s have been found, then I would simply comment that they (and many others) are present in any soil around the world. Don't bother about it, search for something more alarming...... Forget about "dangers", it is not "serious" and "catastrophic" is only your incredible ignorance about radiation related topics, which would be excusable of course if you would not always claim dangers and catastrophes based on your ignorance as you have done before. Looking forward to read your next story.

Hopefully others do not regard this mail as an unappropriate answer to a scientific question.

  Franz

    Dear Radsafers:

I'm looking for some assistance. There have been numerous transuranic materials found around Niagara Falls, New York, including Plutonium, Lanthanum, Strontium, Actinium, Cesium and perhaps others. All of these fission products have been buried at the Lake Ontario Ordnance Works since at least 1944. All products were disposed of in direct contact to the soils and within feet of the water table.

Would someone be able to tell me the dangers of these materials being in the environment and in contact to the soils and in near proximity to the water table.

This situation, I believe, is serious and perhaps even catastrophic in magnitude.

I would appreciate any comments, guidance or direction to address this situation of grave concern.

Thanking you each in advance for any help.

    Sincerely,

    Louis Ricciuti
