Theragenics plans to interview candidates for the following position:

 

Title:  Manager of Health Physics/Deputy RSO

 

Primary Function:  Theragenics Corporation, a leader in the production of

radioactive devices used to treat prostate cancer, is searching for an

organized leader to join

the management team in our Buford, Georgia facility.  Incumbent manages the

operational health physics program for Theragenics which includes direct

reports from the Senior Health Physicist, Health Physicist, and Senior

Health Physics Technicians.  Implements a radiation protection program to

comply with radioactive material licenses, and state and federal rules and

regulations for radioactive materials.  Interfaces with directors, managers,

and workers throughout the company to implement an effective Health Physics

Program to maintain exposures to employees and the environment As Low As

Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).  Fills in for RSO as needed.

 

Education and Experience:  Masters degree in health physics, nuclear

engineering, radiation physics or equivalent is required.  Ph.D., Ph.D.

candidate, and/or CHP are highly desirable.   At least three years

experience in occupational health physics or radiation safety is highly

desirable.
