One factor that needs to be considered is that some

patients receive several CT scans in a short period of

time.  While the majority of emergency room patients

may only get one CT scan, patients admitted, or

through follow-up studies may get two, three or more

scans.  There is no doubt that CT scanning has medical

benefits, however, it can be overused as a tool.



As for the issue of 2500 deaths from radiation

exposures, I would find that to a calculated value

with little credible value.
