The unique IAEA text specific on Communication was written to be addressed
to several types of public.
Communication on Nuclear, Radiation, Transport and Waste Safety: A Practical
Handbook
IAEA TECDOC Series No. 1076, 1999
The interested collegues can download it at
http://www-pub.iaea.org/MTCD/publications/PDF/te_1076_prn.pdf
This publication is intended for national regulatory authorities, to provide
them with
guidance on the principles and methods that can be applied in communicating
nuclear safety
to different audiences under different circumstances.
The key questions addressed in this publication are: what communication
should seek
to achieve; what to communicate, to whom, when and how; and how to know
whether
communication is succeeding, this will differ depending on the audience and
circumstances.
I have worked in this document as IAEA Consultant and I had suggested to
IAEA at that time, to use it as basis for International training course of 2
extensive weeks. It is really a pity that the idea didn't follow ahead.
About the topic above - different audiences under different circumstances. -
Who among the colleagues of this list had the opportunity to talk to
deaf-dumb and blind people on nuclear issues? - Especially emergency
response?
Believe me it is a fantastic experience
