Texas A&M University has a position open for an accelerator specialist. The
successful applicant will:

Supervise and perform maintenance and repair on accelerators and related
equipment (the system) and maintain documentation system.
 
Diagnose problems (troubleshoot) electrical systems including power
supplies, motors and circuits and high voltage systems.
Diagnose problems and repair mechanical devices.
Diagnose problems in the system control computer and automated systems and
PLC codes and ladder logic. Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics for the
system. Be familiar with completing this process using remote access to the
main computer.
 
Work with maintenance and test personnel from manufacturers/suppliers of
equipment and expertise.
 
Order and stock spare parts inventory for the system.

Most be able to work with industry and scientific and research community to
adopt and adapt strategies to make things work. Must be able to work with
university faculty and students. Must be able to conform to quality
assurance procedures.

Must understand and comply with safety and other procedures without
compromise or supervision. Must be willing to work with equipment that
produces radiation and complete radiation safety training.

Position is ³on call² and may have shifted work hours depending on facility
activity.
