>From the bits and pieces I here, I don't think major utilities would worry 
too much as to whether a large unit >=1000 MWe could be competitive with gas.  
The unknown risk out there right now for potential investors would be Yucca 
Mountain.  

Doesn't it seem hard to believe that gas/coal will not only support growth 
over the next 20 years, but also replace the baseline nuclear power 
contribution.
