[ RadSafe ] Depleted Uranium

Could anyone please expound upon the magnetic properties of Depleted
Uranium?
If a 'warhead' was mixed with scrap metal would a magnetic crane pick it up?
How good a magnet would it make and under which circumstances would it
become magnetic? (Think low temperature friction in a shredder, exposure to
magnetic fields etc.)

I would REALLY appreciate answers in low tech speak. ;->
