Health Physicist
- Department: RADIATION PHYSICS
- Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT - Full Time
- 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday
- Day shift
- Bachelors degree is required
- Experience is required
Under the supervision of the Senior Health Physicist, responsible for
the maintenance of radiation safety standards in all areas of the
Hospital. Bachelor's Degree in Health or Radiological Physics or
closely related discipline. At least 2 years experience in radiation
safety. Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to
provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Responsible for the maintenance of Radiation Safety Standards
throughout the Hospital. Regularly exercise discretion and independent
judgment in determining appropriate actions to be taken for maintenance
of Radiation Safety Standards; conduct surveys to assure that safety
and quality assurance requirements are satisfied; assist in operation
of the Radiation Film Badge program, ordering, storage, and maintenance
of records for radioisotopes used throughout the Hospital. Possible
rotating to satellite locations on occasion.
