New List CMTS-L

Dear RADSAFE Subscribers--I am pleased to announce the formation of a new
discussion list, Chemical Management and Tracking Systems, or CMTS-L.  The
official purpose of this this list is:

"CMTS-L is a discussion group focused on the formation of a chemcial
management and tracking system at Cornell University.  CMTS-L will also act
as a forum at the international level for the exchange of ideas concerning
the efforts at various eudcational and commercial organizations engaged in
the establishment of chemical management and tracking systems."

There are many of us attempting to design, fund and implement chemical
inventory and tracking systems, waste management systems, chemical
recycling/exchange lists and other applications of computers to chemical
management.  The idea for this new list arose during the 11th Annual
College Hazardous Waste Conference held at Stanford last month.  It was
apparent that many individuals at numerous institutions were working on
various aspects of this problem, along with the regulatory problems
associated with research scale use of chemicals and the resulting chemical
waste at educational and research institutions. 

Hopefully,this list will allow us to work together to solve some commom
problems associated with the large scale introduction of computerized
chemical management systems.  Any information or threads of conversations
related to the topics described above are acceptable for posting to CMTS-L.
