According to the Merck index UF6 reacts with water decomposing to
UO2F2 and HF.  Obviously then any contact with tissue will result not
only in a corrosive reaction but in the particularly toxic
manifistations of HF exposure.

I would suggest anyone planning to work with this material should
consult at least three separate sources such as Sax Dangerous
Properties of Industrial Materials, the Merck index and a good MSDS.
As you probably know some MSDS sheets are not very informative.  I
have found the data on MSDS's supplied by Fisher to be fairly good.
If you are associated with a University you may already have such
MSDS's available.  Another good MSDS is made by Occupational Health
Services.
