Re: HP Software
My opionion on commercial HP Software is that you can probably develop a
home grown application using one of the current PC databases. You will
then have a database that is tailored to your program and get exactly what
you need and will not have to use a program that is so generic that you
would probably be better off without it (and also save some money to spend
on other equipment!). I have been using PARADOX for about three years and
have developed some nice applications for our Radiation Safety program.
There are many other decent database programs out there that allow the user
to do actually programing and develop standalone applications. I guess
the hardest part is deciding which one to use. I personally like PARADOX.
I anyone is interested, I can make the scripts I have written available for
you to modify for your own uses. It is written in Paradox 4.0 which you
would have to purchase before you can use it.
Also (just my opinion) if a company is trying to sell you some software
but has to walk you through the demo, then it seems to me that the
program isn't very user freindly and you would probably just endup
wasting more time than before by using it.
