Another idea for simple check sources ..... Check out your local Goodwill store or other place that has used/old kitchenware. Look for bright orange ceramic plates and such - ESPECIALLY with the name Fiesta Ware. Once you find a hot one you'll ALWAYS recognize that particular color. Not sure how one would covertly use a geiger counter in a Goodwill store <grin>!!
