Subject: Trouble Posting messages

Hector,

I'm having a devil of a time trying to post a message or reply to those
being posted on the radsafe bb. At first I thought it was because of the
fact that I transmit through a gateway (ms mail on a mac) and then into
our campus internet. However, I tried unsubscribing from my ms mail
address and re-subscribing through my campus internet address. That
didn't work either so I am at a loss as to why the problem. Can you give
me any hints ? I'm trying to track down my computer people so they can
tell me what is wrong but haven't gotten any help yet.

In the interim could you post the following on the radsafe bb (I can see
the responses I just can't reply). Sorry for asking you to do this but I
need some info and don't wish to wait until I solve my sending problem.

Thanks,

Pete C.

NUREG 5512 provides information and data tables on residual radioactive
contamination from decommissioning. I am trying to decipher the dose
factor information Table E.2 (APPendix E). This tabele list
radionuclides and their respective inhalation, ingestion, and dose rate
factors per unit of activity.

What I can not figure out from the narrative that begins this section is
whether the listings for U-238 and Th-232 include the progeny or are
specifically for that radionuclide w/o progeny. If its the latter this
seems like an extremely awkward way in which to use the data because one
would then have to add up all the conversion factors for each
radionuclide in the chain. Can anyone tell me if this is radionuclide
specific or are the chain members included.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Pete C.
