laser safety

To Peter, Lynn and Steven:

I spent last week in Boston at a Laser Institute of America class because 
our administration has decided that since the "r" in laser stands for 
radiation it belongs to me.  When the dust settles we plan to organize a 
Laser Safety Committee and address some concerns and potential problems 
that we have here on campus.
