Detection of multiple alpha emitters from a single thick source emitter 
is possible using alpha spectroscopy.  Even though degredation of the 
peaks is obvious, they are still visible provided that the activity 
ratios are high enough.  Work on this subject has been ongoing at UMASS 
at Lowell and I would again recommend that you contact that institution.
