Re: X-Ray safety videos.

Daren, the only commercially available video I'm aware of is "The Double-Edged
Sword". It concerns radiation safety for analytical x-ray units including
x-ray diffraction and x-ray fluorescence units. It was produced in the early
70's. We have a copy which I used to show in its entirety but in recent years
I only use it to supplement my own lecture and slides. I use a five minute
segment in which an actual accident is described along with footage of crispy
fingers. I stopped using the whole thing because it looked so dated, because
it duplicated some of what I had already said and because it didn't say every-
thing I wanted the class to know. Despite that, it may be useful to you and
you may be able to preview it to determine if it suits your needs. I can't
find the address and name of the company we got it from but perhaps someone
else on the list will know.

On a slightly different topic, I'm planning to produce two short videos about
electron microscope radiation safety and about radiation safety for a Torrex
cabinet x-ray unit our biologists use to irradiate fruit flies. Can anyone
suggest any good references (I've just acquired the Electron Microscopy Safety
Handbook) I can use for display materials for the videos?
