Below Radiation Oncologists, What?

1. I would add to Dan Bourland's nice summary of positions in a
radiation therapy operation the position of dosimetrist. This is
a person with specialty training in clinical dosimetry matters.
Usually a BS/MS type person (maybe some Ph.D.s out there--but they
usually call themselves "radiobiologists" or some such). Persons
with lots of radiotherapy technology experience who have completed
additional degree/clinical rotation work are great for dosimetrist
positions. Historically these folks have been in great demand.
Don't know what the current market is, though, with all the medical
reimbursement uncertainty arising from the National Health Care
initiatives!
