Doesn't the body regulate the concentration of potassium? i.e.
homeostasis. In other words the ingestion of a banana shouldn't lead
to anything but a very short term increase in the body's K-40
content. Very quickly potassium will be eliminated to compensate for
the uptake. Therefore no resultant dose (to speak of).

It is possible to demonstrate the radioactivity in brazil nuts by
using a scaler set for 1 to 5 minute counts and a pancake or ZnS
detector. With brazil nuts you want to use the meat of the nut ground
up/pulverized. This works with other stuff like soil, rocks, wood
ash. Not as good a demo as the Nu salt demo but not bad.
