Here at the University of Vermont we have a 1.5 hour presentation
with a 44 multiple choice exam given at each course that uses unsealed
radiation sources. (This is the same exam that must be taken by all
persons that use radiation at the University.) For sealed source use we give
a 1 - 2 hour safety lecture. Film and ring badges are given to the students
as needed. The professors know that if they are going to use radiation sources
in their undergraduate labs the RSO must be scheduled into one, or part of one
of their labs.
