There are really no authoritative standards or regulatory guides at this time
for data validation.  It is an area that is getting a lot of attention and an
ANSI subcommittee (and perhaps other groups) is working on standards at the
present time.   As a former EPA employee, I know that EPA does not have
anything on this.   But there should be something in a couple of year from
ANSI.  Until then, your judgement is as good as anyone's.   Hope this helps.
