Unconditional Release ) More
OK, OK Les....The NRC is still here on Friday PM...^5^8^ So, just to
help out...........
The NRC cannot "officially" respond, but you know the next best
thing to being here.....is to get on the phone and ask for the
regional NRC representative in the "materials licensing section"
to help you out!!
If you are in an Agreement State, then contact the Agreement
State person responsible for waste issues or material licensing
issues. As a reminder, NRC licensees can request exemptions to
the regulations and NRC does allow on a "case-by-case" basis,
exemptions to the regs (and No, they are not that rare). Just in
case you want to check out what other licensees have requested as
far as technical asssistance requests to regions (some of which
are exemption requests), check out NUREG/CR-5569 "Health Physics
Database" which has over 300 different positions of interest on
the reactor and materials side of the house (its also on
software). To get a copy of the software, contact Energy Science
and Technology Software Center (615-576-2606) in TN. But
remember the summaries in the HP database must not be construed
to provide or impose NRC regulatory requirements. In any case,
its nice to know you are not the only licensee out there asking
similar (if not the same) exemption or disposal questions.
Good talking to you---
