Re: the term "health physics"
Melissa
I was told back in 1980 that Karl Zeigler Morgan coined the term "Health
Physicist". The story goes that he was in a room with a group of physicists
which were to begin/continue work on two seperate projects. The physicists
knew who they were but he needed a name for the people working in relation
to biological effects of radiation. HP folklore has it that he said
something akin to "Alright, you physicists go to location X, and you
..er..ah...health physicists come with me".
Can anyone prove or disprove this story?
I'm curious myself.
Standard disclaimers apply.
