The NRC has not yet adopted the recommendations of ICRP 60. They only recently implemented ICRP 26 where internal and external doses are summed, with a limit of 5 rem. Previously, internal dose was calculated in MPC-hours or as a percent of the maximum permissible body burden. DOE also has a 5 rem limit. Liz Brackett
