An interesting aside to the SI units saga. The NRC specifically states that
exposure reports submitted to workers and to the NRC, per 10CFR20, are not
permitted to be in SI units. However, the recent implementation of ANSI
N13.11-1993 requires dosimetry processors, to maintain accreditation, to
report their proficiency test results IN SI units. Why? No reason I suppose
.. just a ridiculous rule which requires a processor to take computer
generated reports and regenerate the data to fit someone's need .. with
potential transcription errors.
