Excess radium-226 ??? - inquiry

Hello,

I'm posting this message to gather information only.

I'm interested in finding out about facilities with an excess inventory of
radium-226 (needles, sealed sources, other liquid or solid forms) that are
willing to transfer it to another institution. Whether the facility is a NRC or
agreement state licensee, DOE, DOD, or some other federal facility does not
matter.

Generally, I'm trying to figure out how many facilities have radium-bearing
materials they want to get rid of, and what's the activity of that inventory.

I'm gathering this information since there's a potential research interest in
radium-226 and bismuth-214 with individuals wanting to use a certain waste form
as the radium source. I have stated that it would be appropriate to first seek
facilities with excess radium that they'd like to get rid of, providing radium
in a more appropriate form for use, and also relieving facilities of their
unwanted radium and possible disposal headaches.

For those facilities with excess radium, I would like to get a rough, ballpark
estimate of the activity and form (no need for anything extensive, shouldn't
spend more than 5 minutes, less than a paragraph or so). Also, a contact,
address, and phone number would be appreciated.

Please respond to me directly, I'm trying not fill up mailboxes, generate
unnecessary or tangential discussion, or otherwise "spam" the RadSafe recipients
with unwanted e-mail.

Again, this request is being made only to collect information for a proposal.
This information request does not constitute a decision or intention to pursue
any specific action or activity.

Thanks greatly in advance.
