Update to RadEFX WWW home page (http://radefx.bcm.tmc.edu)
Dear Radsafers:
We have updated the WWW home page for the RadEFX (http://radefx.bcm.tmc.edu)
Radiation Health Effects Research Resource with new sources of information.
This includes a great deal of information on community-agency interaction
for disaster preparedness for radiation accidents, research needs for
epidemiology, immigrant studies, genetic effects, and molecular biology.
There are new sections under the publication header concerning papers
on the Semipalatinsk Test Site (STS), Forty-five years of study of Hiroshima
and Nagasaki atomic bomb survivors, and childhood thyroid cancer.
In addition, there is a statistical software forum that gives all of the command
language for fitting RERF and BEIR-V dose-response models with Epicure (AMFIT)
to obtain risk coefficients for excess cancer mortality among atomic bomb
survivors, and FORTRAN source codes for:
1) Joint confidence intervals for odds ratios using regression coefficients
and a variance-covariance matrix obtained with unconditional logistic
regression;
2) Iteratively reweighted least squares for Poisson regression based on Fisher's
method of scoring;
3) Parametric survival analysis for the exponential, linear-exponential,
Gompertz and Weibull models using grouped data, and;
4) Sample size calculations for matched cohort designs.
At http://cccr9.med.bcm.tmc.edu there are several LaTeX publications that
will be posted on RadEFX in the near future. These documents are helpful for
new LaTeX users who could use a "jump start" on LaTeX tables, equations,
notation sections, abbreviations sections and math typesetting. One of
the documents is a Univ. of Texas dissertation and cover sheet which may
be instructive (to date, there is only a spattering of dissertations
in LaTeX format that are in the public domain).
With best regards,
Leif Peterson
