I would not suggest stainless steel if iodines are going to be
used.  S.S. undergoes halogen corrosion and iodines may therefore
be difficult to decontaminate if the hood is chronically
contaminated.  The PVC type hoods are much better and as noted
eliminate acid corosion problems as well.

Please note that if you used charcol for iodine that is not truly
trapped.  It is a delayed transport relationship which is dependent
on flow (CFM), total volume of charcol and the radioloigical half-
life.  If these parameters are not considerred breakthru can occur.
