Re: mrad silicon
Usually output of X-ray machines/devices are usually expressed in
mR/mAs, R/min...etc. I have never known output of x-ray systems
expressed in mrads silicon. If you are calculating the shielding for
an x-ray system, you will need to know the workload (e.g mA-min).
Don't know where mrads silicon would apply.

Hi all.
In investigating the output of a 2.5 MeV flash X-ray machine, someone
expressed the output in terms of "mrads silicon". I'm not familiar with
that term. Could someone please explain it to me? Absorbed dose in
silicon? Important bec were calculating concrete shielding thickness?
Beam measurements were made with TLDs, if that helps.
Thanks in advance.
