An entry level health physicist position is available now at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY.

Radiation/Health Specialist to participate in the Radiation Safety Office of
a major research university.  The radiation safety program covers a reactor
critical facility, a 100 MeV electron linear accelerator, and about 40
authorized users.  This full-time staff will support the Institute Radiation
Safety Officer in a wide range of daily activities (e.g., survey and
auditing for labs using radiation sources; isotope inventory; sample
counting; radioactive waste management; user training; personnel dosimetry).
Additionally, this individual will provide support to the Office of Risk
Management and Loss Prevention in occupational health and safety.  Minimum
qualifications are: college degree in health physics, nuclear engineering,
or a closely related discipline, at least one year experience in radiation
safety and occupational health programs, or an equivalent combination of
education and training.  Experience in occupational safety and health in
either an industrial or academic environment.  Strong background in health
physics instrumentation including TLD readers, liquid scintillation
counters, and proportional counters, etc.  Good interpersonal skills and the
ability to work independently are required.  Experience with popular PC
software (spreadsheet and database applications) is necessary.  Send letter
