The median UK efective dose equivalent for an IVU in a survey done by the UK NRPB in the 1980s was 3.46 mSv. The sample size was 354. The 75th percentile was 5.11 mSv and the 25th percentile 2.45 mSv.  The median tube potential was 70 kVp and number of films was 8.0. 

Source NRPB R-262.  I guess US doses arent too different for this kind of examination.
