Just a word of explanation to the RADSAFE subscribers...

The main reason I would not allow non-subscribers to post is the increased
probability of "spamming," which is the broadcast of inappropriate (usually
commercial) posts to a wide range of Usenet newsgroups and/or Internet
mailing lists.  Obviously, since subscription to the list is not regulated,
requiring subscription cannot completely eliminate the possibility;
however, the possibility that someone will spam RADSAFE is reduced.

And another comment...

I suspect that this will sound like a flame no matter how I word this, but
I do resent someone implying that s/he is busier than the approximately 1000
of you that currently subscribe to RADSAFE.
