Yes, always. In the past we have had several violations from inspectors.
It is much better now.
The regulations state:
a) sources of radiation shall be secured against unauthorized removal from
the place of storage.
b) Sources of radiation in an unrestricted area and not in storage shall
be tended under the constant surveillance and immediate control of the
licensee.
How do you restrict, in

Our policy has been that all stocks must be locked when not in use.
Freezers and refrigerators where stocks are stored have to be locked.
The lab, where RAM is used has to be locked when unattended.
We enforce this in the following way:
When we do an inspection, if there is no one in the lab, we wait around
for five or ten minutes, and if they dont show up, they are cited.
The state inspectors do the same.
We have an information notice that we mailed out to all users.
