JOB OPENING/CAREER OPPORTUNITY
HEALTH PHYSICIST/ASSISTANT RADIATION SAFETY OFFICER
University of Maryland at Baltimore's Department of Environmental
Safety seeks an experienced Health Physicist. Duties include performing
surveys and investigations of activities involving ionizing or non-ionizing
radiation; preparation of technical reports; maintenance of essential records
and files; analyzing and solving a wide variety of technical and regulatory
issues involved in teaching, research and medical uses of ionizing radiation
and other related duties as assigned. UMAB/University of Maryland
Medical Center is home to the professional schools of Medicine, Pharmacy,
Dentistry, Law, Nursing and Social Work and a 700+ bed tertiary care
teaching hospital. Environmental Safety administers oversight to 200+
authorized users operating under an academic/medical broad scope
radioactive material license, a High Dose Remote Afterloader (HDR) license,
a Gamma Knife license and a radioactive material Incinerator license.
