Floor hygiene in molecular biology labs

I would like to collect data, opinions, or references from people in this
group on what constitutes or is believed to constitute adequate frequency of
either wet mopping, damp mopping, or other cleaning in molecular biology
(i.e. open 32-P use)laboratories. I know of two universities that damp mop
laboratories at least every other day and I think that this is adequate but
have no concrete data based on accumulation of traces of radioactivity on
sticky pads, carpets, etc. A grade school custodian I interviewed, who had
previously been employed in a biotech company suggested damp mopping 3 times
a week was a minimum. What do you all think? I'll be happy to compile your
replies in a followup posting if you like. Thanks.
