Initialing NRC Required Records

Well, I finally have a question for the cognoscenti of radsafe.  While writing 
a SOP for required NRC records, I noticed that many of them require initials.  
Well, a few of these records are entirely on computer and the initials are 
being typed in.  When I brought my little question up, I was told to call up 
the NRC.  In one conversation, I was told that the initials had to be 
handwritten.  Well, that didn't sit to well with out Nuclear Pharmacist, and I 
was told to call again.

Now the RPO here has been told to make a technical inquiry.  My assumption is 
that this issue has come up before, and I'm wondering what the NRC has said.  
As records are increasingly kept on computer, it would seem that something 
clear on the issue is needed.
