Infrared Illumination?

Good Morning,

I have a researcher who wants to videotape people while sleeping.  To
facilitate the videotaping the researcher wants to illuminate? the face
of the sleepers with infrared.  I am looking for
information/regulations/limits of exposure/general guidance etc. for the
use of infrared for this purpose.
