SUMMARY
		
Award-winning nuclear plant Leading Engineering Laboratory Technician with
over seven years experience in dosimetry processing, waste disposal and
 radiological controls.  Thorough administrative skills in every aspect of
duties as Engineering Laboratory Technician (ELT), radiological controls
technician, and dosimetry technician.  Voluntarily takes on tasks beyond the
scope of regular duties to enhance safety, improve plant and laboratory
effectiveness, and train and develop radiological controls personnel.				
     		

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Leading Engineering Laboratory Technician 			      5/88 to 8/95
U.S. Navy				         Locations throughout the U.S.

Leading Engineering Laboratory Technician (LELT) - Administered radioactive
materials
accountability system,  water chemistry reporting, chemical inventory,
dosimetry processing, environmental monitoring, radiation exposure
minimization program (ALARA), in-place testing and inspection of high
efficiency (HEPA) filters, radioactive materials shipping, and hazardous
materials storage and disposal in accordance with DOT and state regulations.
 Performed personnel internal monitoring and authorized release of
radioactive materials using multi-channel analyzer.  Managed mixed hazard
radioactive material program and quarterly data reports.

Radiological Controls -  As Radiological Controls Shift Supervisor, developed
yearly radiation exposure budgets for 71 employees.  Tracked, graphed and
conducted trend analysis on a monthly basis.  Performed audits and
evaluations of radiological controls programs.  As lead RCSS for maintenance
aboard USS Arkansas and USS California, developed radiological controls
agreements, man-rem budgets and radiological enclosure designs.  Operated TLD
reader and performed dosimetry processing for 71 employees.  As a key member
of Nuclear Drill team, evaluated employee performance during casualty drills.
 Performed and supervised waste packing, solidification, and radioactive
liquid transfer operations.  Received Admirals Letter of Commendation for
exemplary performance during radiological controls practices evaluation.

				
Supervision & Training -  Supervised technicians in diverse specialties
including machinist mates, electricians, ELTs, and electronics technicians.
 Scheduled shifts, made work assignments, inspected completed jobs and
evaluated employee performance.  As Training Assistant to Radiological
Controls Officer as well as Lead Instructor, created lesson plans for
employee training, delivered lectures, created, administered, and graded
tests.  Gave final certification boards to employees in qualifications, and
assessed student performance via written and practical examinations.  Taught
chemistry, radiological controls, operational plant operations, and
maintenance operations.
