You can assure that if an Investigator uses our favorite compound, it
will probably be with a susbtance that will make it a mixed
waste...experience speaking....we as health physicist always seek the
most conservative path that will aviod the least probability of

Isn't it interesting that in the RQ table, the asterick beside Uranyl
Acetate indicates that this material "appears by name in the
Hazardous Materials Table", however, in my version of 49CFR172.101,
Hazardous Materials Table, the table goes from Uranium Metal,
pyphoric, Class 7, UN 2979 to Uranyl nitrate hexahydrate solution,
class 7, UN 2980 (1992 version - if someone has a newer version,
please let me know!). Wonder what happened?

This item does have a reportable quantity according to 49 CFR 172.101,
app. A , Table 1 of 100 lbs. or 45.4 Kg.
Therefore if you plan to ship a large quantity please take note.
