Re: Radiological Environment in Ukraine, Kiev, Etc.
Greetings
We routinely perform whole body counts on Canadian FedGov employees that
spend extended periods of time in Kiev. Small amounts of Cs-137 are
found; 200 Bq or less.
We did perform an extensive study of some Belarussian children that were
visiting Canada. The area, although not the Ukraine, was close to Kiev.
The results are published in Health Physics 66(4) 439,443; 1994.
When in Israel, we measured some 1250 persons. 292 were from Kiev and
many others from the Ukraine. This is also published in Health Physics
69(1): 102-110; 1995.
Regards
