Effective Decon of Radioiodine from Surfaces

RADSAFERS:

Previously at NIH, and currently at Genetics Institutes, we use "I-BIND"
solution for decontaminating radioiodine from surfaces. This has worked
extremely well. This cleaning agent is a highly soluble, slightly acidic
polymer with special affinity for iodine (due to the fact the I-125 is a
negatively charged molecule). Thus, we have not experienced any
issues with regard to volatility.
